Spring 2010 Market Introductions:

NICHOLS & STONE CONTINUES TO GROW; ADDS NEW DINING, ENTERTAINMENT, AND UPHOLSTERY OPTIONS

As part of its ongoing expansion, Nichols & Stone has relocated its showroom to 12,200 square feet of prime showroom space at the Union Square Showrooms at 410 English Road in High Point, North Carolina. In addition to the expanded showroom, Nichols & Stone also purchased a 35,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Archdale, North Carolina, where production has begun on its newly introduced upholstery line.

"Nichols & Stone is a rising, popular brand," remarked Edward Audi, executive vice president. "For over 150 years we have offered consumers beautifully made solid-wood furniture at an attractive price, and we're delighted to be able to expand that offering into upholstery. The new Archdale factory and High Point showroom set the stage for continued growth."

Nichols & Stone continues its new-product momentum under the watchful eye of Tuck Nichols, the eighth generation of Nichols to lead the company with stylish creations for the dining room and home theater.

The Banyan dining group consists of a 40" x 78" antiqued and distressed dining table, a rustic sideboard, and several chair options. The table is inspired by traditional trestle-table designs, but also incorporates transitional influences, making it at home in numerous settings ranging from urban dwellings to country homes. It features a thick, hand-planed birch top with tapered edges and comes with two 16" extension leaves to accommodate seating for ten. Distinctive cross stretchers support the table's base.

The Banyan sideboard has clean, simple lines, and offers ample storage. It, too, has a hand-planed top, accented with physical distressing. The Banyan arm-and side-chairs are completely wrapped in saddle leather, and are versatile enough for any dining environment.

Nichols & Stone's new Concord chairs reflect classic English and American Windsor designs, featuring one-piece steam-bent bows for strength and comfort. The American Heritage dining chairs are available with wood, upholstery, or leather seats, and come in a selection of stain and paint options. Counter- and bar-height versions of these chairs match the two new American Heritage high dining tables making their debut.

Three sizes of home entertainment units are joining Nichols & Stone's well-received Freedom Collection of transitionally styled furnishings. The Claremont and Carlisle TV consoles can accommodate 45" and 65" monitors respectively, while the Brighton corner console can easily hold a 50" TV. All three pieces are crafted from solid maple, and feature glass-paned doors and adjustable shelving.

Following a very enthusiastic reception at its October Market debut, Nichols & Stone Upholstery is expanding its product offering for April. Introductions this market include a collection of four new sleep sofas, each featuring a quality 5" innerspring mattress and deluxe, deep-seated comfort. Also new for April are two contemporary frames and dozens of exciting and colorful new fabrics and leathers.

Founded in 1857, Nichols & Stone is the oldest furniture-building name in the United States. The firm is a leader today at producing handsome, affordable, comfortable designs with durable finishes, in styles ranging from traditional to contemporary.
